Super Swift Summer Despatch For ALL Orders Of Stikins ® (& Trons ®)

Thursday, July 28th, 2016

During the summer months, most parents will be busy trying to keep track of all their summer plans, which can make it easy to forget all about the task of ordering name labels before the back to school rush sets in.

As part of our aim to make our name labels as convenient as possible for busy parents, we try to ensure that ALL orders are made and despatched to our customers as swiftly and speedily as possible – so you can make your order, receive your name labels in plenty of time, and move on to the next thing on your list (while avoiding the unnecessary panic of trying to remember if you’ve ordered your labels or not).

All of our orders are made and despatched on the same working day (Monday to Friday), where orders are placed by 3pm. Any orders placed after 3pm or over the weekend will be made and despatched on the next working day.

The prices on our website are all-inclusive of VAT and delivery and we despatch our orders as standard by Royal Mail’s first class service; around 93% of items sent on this service are delivered on the next (working) day, with the rest taking a day or two extra. We also offer customers the opportunity to upgrade their delivery to a guaranteed next working day delivery service; this costs £5.75 and can be requested by phone.

If you have any concerns about how long it will take for your order to arrive, or you need to make sure your order arrives before a particular deadline, please contact our Customer Service Team who will be happy to discuss your requirements and to assist you with your order.

We also offer shipping to a number of countries outside of the UK; these orders will be made and despatched on the same working day (Mon-Fri, up to 3pm), with our standard worldwide delivery service being Royal Mail’s International Standard delivery service. This service is charged at £1.50 per item and Royal Mail aim to deliver items on this service in 3-5 working days (Western Europe) or 5-7 working days (Rest of the World).

To discuss any despatch and delivery queries you have – or to place an order with upgraded next day delivery – simply get in touch with our Customer Service Team. Alternatively, visit our Stikins ® product page or our Trons ® product page to place your order today!

FAQ – How Do I Request BLANK Labels?

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016

Some of our customers want to be able to order blank labels (or to leave one of the lines blank) so that they can write in a particular name or additional information at a later date.

Requesting blank labels or a blank line on your labels is a simple way to create the exact labels you need; our system can only print one set of text per pack of name labels, so whatever is printed onto ONE of the labels in a pack is printed onto ALL of the labels in that pack – BUT if you want to be able to make name labels for a number of individuals, you want different amounts for each person, you want to put different information onto each label, or if you have information that you can only add at a later date, requesting blank labels means you can write out as many labels as you need for each name (or purpose).

We are more than happy for customers to request blank (or partially blank) labels; simply follow the guidelines below:

  • Ordering By Post: leave the relevant fields blank on your order form
  • Ordering By Phone: let us know that you want blank labels or a blank line
  • Ordering Online: enter a blank space into the relevant text fields (“Enter Line 1” and/or “Enter Line 2”) using the space bar on your keyboard
[You can also add a note to your order to explain that you want a particular line or the whole label leaving blank, by leaving a note in the “Additional Information” box as you checkout.]

Please Note:

  • If you do intend to write on your labels, you will need to use a laundry pen (or similar) to make sure that the ink won’t be washed away when you put your clothes in the washing machine or wash personal items (such as water bottles and lunch boxes).
  • Our labels are made using specialist printers, software, and ink, which means you CANNOT print these labels yourself, using the printer you have at home.
  • We do not offer any discount for requesting blank, rather than printed, labels.

To get started with an order, simply get in touch or visit one of our product pages and follow the instructions in this blog to request a set of blank Stikins ® and/or Trons ®: Buy Stikins ® Name Labels // Buy Trons ® Name Transfers

Place A Summer Order For Your Summer-Proof Name Labels!

Thursday, July 21st, 2016

Regardless of whether you’re getting organised for your summer holidays or getting ahead of the “Back To School” rush, it’s important that the name labels you buy are able to survive day in and day out – throughout the whole year.

Our name labels are made with brilliantly advanced materials that allow them to remain firmly in place for as long as possible BUT we’ve also taken steps to make sure that both our labels AND their print are summer-proof to make sure that your labels remain clear and legible all summer long.

The summer brings with it a whole heap of challenges for name label products; in addition to sweaty necks, sticky ice creams and sugary drinks (and the resulting sticky fingers that follow), name labels will (hopefully) also be exposed to sun creams and lotions, which can be a problem for the print used to create these products. Many sun creams and lotions use ingredients (such as titanium dioxide) that are incredibly helpful when it comes to protecting us from the sun BUT that will react with the print used on name labels and cause that print to fade or to disintegrate entirely.

Back in 2013, we sourced brand new inks for our Stikins ® name labels to ensure that the print we use would remain completely resistant to the ingredients commonly used in sun creams and lotions – allowing our products to survive all summer long. We also tested our Trons ® name transfers, when we introduced them in 2014, to ensure that they were also fully resistant to these sun creams and lotions.

We have continued to test our name labels against a variety of these sun care products to ensure that your name labels will be as summer-proof as possible, even when manufacturers make a change to the ingredients they use. Our latest tests have shown that both of our name label products remain resistant to the majority of market leading sun creams and lotions (including those designed specifically for both children and individuals with sensitive skin).

We would add that the one exception is sun creams and lotions that are alcohol based; alcohol is a solvent and, as such, will cause the print on name labels to disintegrate rapidly. While these products are more likely to be targeted at adults (rather than families or children), you might find that the sun care products you end up using this summer contain some alcohol based ingredients. If this is the case, you simply need to allow plenty of time for the alcohol in these products to evaporate away before putting on clothing or handling items that have had one of our name labels applied (this can take anything from a few seconds to a few minutes).

You can find out more about how sun care products affect name labels on our “Sun Cream Resistant Name Labels” information page; alternatively, you can find out more about our Stikins ® name labels and Trons ® name transfers on our information pages, or you can go ahead and place an order for your very own name labels that will last throughout the summer and on into the school year ahead.

FAQ – How Do I Order Name Labels From Label Planet?

Tuesday, July 19th, 2016

You can order in a number of ways, so it’s completely up to you to choose the option that is most convenient for you; we can accept orders via our website, over the phone, by post, or even by email.

To Place An Order Online:

  1. Visit our website at stikins.co.uk and click on “Buy Stikins ®” to start your order with a pack of Stikins ® name labels or click on “Buy Trons ®” to start with a pack of Trons ® iron-on name transfers.
  2. Select the pack you want to buy and enter the text you require as follows:
Select if you want your text on one line or on two lines
(We recommend using two lines unless you are entering a single name (e.g. just a surname) or a very short full name. Our name labels are made to one size only and will not expand to incorporate a larger number of characters; instead, our system will count up the number of characters you have requested and will reduce the font size until it reaches a size that will allow all of those characters to fit on your labels).
Enter the text you want into the boxes provided (“Enter Line 1” and/or “Enter Line 2”)
(To request blank labels or to leave one line blank, simply enter a blank space in the relevant box using the space bar on your keyboard).
Select the pack size you want
    Enter your school fundraising number
(Registered schools and groups earn up to 30% commission on orders where their fundraising number is quoted; this number may already be filled in if you have followed a link from the school or group website. If you do not know the code for your child’s school or group (or if they are even registered), enter the name of the school or group in the “Additional Information” box as you checkout and we will check/add this for you).
Click “Add to basket” to add that pack to your basket!
  1. From the shopping basket, you can add another pack (click on “Enter More Names”, or on the “Buy Stikins ®” or “Buy Trons ®” buttons), request multiple packs with the details you have already entered (type the number you require into the “Quantity” box and click “Update Totals”), or remove a pack you have already entered (check the “Select” box and click “Delete”).
Once you are happy with the packs you have added to your basket (and you’ve taken a moment to double check the details), click on the “Checkout” button to enter your billing/shipping information and to pay for your order.
  1. Enter your address and contact information. If you wish to enter a separate delivery address, enter your billing address first and then check the “shipping address” box to add your different delivery address.
We will only use your contact information for the purpose of processing your order and keeping you up to date with its progress; from time to time we do send promotional emails to let our customers know about any new products and/or offers that are available – to request that we do NOT send you any promotional emails, simply uncheck the “Allow Promotional Emails” box.
If you have any extra queries or requirements, you can use the “Additional Information” box to add a note to your order, which our customer service team will do their best to assist with.
  1. Payment for online orders can be made with either a credit or debit card or with a PayPal account.

  1. Contact our customer service team on 01270 668076 (opening hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).
  2. Let us know the packs you would like to order and the text you want on each.
  3. Let us know your delivery address and give us your child’s school or group fundraising number (if you have one).
  4. Payment for phone orders can be made with either a credit card or debit card.

Of course, you can also simply send us a letter, providing the details of what you want to order along with your delivery details!
  1. Enter the text you want in the boxes provided (“Line 1” and “Line 2”), enter the quantity you need, and the code for the pack size you want to order, then add your delivery information in the two boxes provided (“Name” and “Address & Postcode”). You can also use the “Price” boxes to work out the total for your order.

Enjoy Peace Of Mind This Summer With Fantastically Flexible Name Labels From Label Planet

Thursday, July 14th, 2016

While you might be thinking that name labels are a “Back To School” purchase to be made at some point later in the summer holidays, we like to think that our name labels can be quite the little helper when it comes to making the most of your summer break.

Whatever you’ve got planned, it’s more than likely that a large part of your summer will be spent herding your children and various belongings around a variety of locations in the hopes of ending the break with as many items as you started (or, at the very least, without finding that you’ve ended up with fewer items than you started out with).

Name labels are a quick and easy way to bring some extra peace of mind to your trips, by making it a whole lot easier for items to be returned should the worst happen. Our Trons ® name transfers fuse and bond with fabric items to create a completely permanent name label, while our Stikins ® name labels will simply stick in and stay in, whether you apply them to clothing and towels (where you should apply your labels onto the wash-care label) or onto all those extras that you simply have to take with you, from buckets and spades, camping gear and swimming stuff, and, of course, all of those assorted “tools of distraction” that you might need to earn a few moments of peace and quiet.

If you’re ordering labels to help keep things safe on a family trip, you might want to order a pack (or packs) that you can share among family members; we have many customers who choose to enter “Family Surname” or simply “Surname” on one line along with a piece of contact information (such as a phone number) to help keep their possessions safe.

You can find out more about our name labels by visiting our Stikins ® Information and Trons ® Information pages, take a read through the reviews left by existing customers on our Stikins ® and Trons ® product pages for more ideas on how you can use your name labels, or simply go ahead and take the plunge by placing an order for your very own set of summer labels to keep your stuff safe through to September (and beyond!).

Stikins ® – Easy To Use Name Labels For The Whole Family

Tuesday, July 12th, 2016

While you might think that name labels are just for making sure that your children’s belongings make it safely back home from school, our versatile stick on name labels are perfect for EVERY member of your family – from the youngest to the eldest – and can be used to make sure that almost any item is safely and securely labelled.

Name Labels For Children
Stikins ® were designed to withstand the rough and tumble of the school year and to be as simple as possible to apply and use; the bold black font means it is really easy to read the name (or information) on each label so your child can easily find (and keep hold of) their belongings in the chaos of the school classroom (and changing room and playground).

These multipurpose name labels can be used to label all kinds of things, from clothing and fabric items (where they should be applied onto the wash-care label), bags and shoes (apply them beneath the tongue or onto the side wall of shoes), and onto personal belongings, such as lunch boxes and water bottles, books and stationery, or even phones and tablets. The labels are discrete enough that they won’t be plastered all over their belongings and smooth enough that they won’t cause any irritation against their skin when applied into clothing – which means your children are free to get on with their day!

Name labels are an easy way to make your children’s belongings that extra bit secure and can also help to teach your children about being responsible for their possessions, help younger children recognise and identify their own name, and can also be used as extra medical alerts if your children have any medical conditions or allergies.

They’re also a pretty useful tool if your children have a lot of similar (if not identical) belongings; sticking a name label onto these items is an instant way to put an end to arguments and tantrums about which item belongs to which child.

Name Labels For Parents
Our name labels were designed with busy parents in mind, which means that we’ve tried to make them as quick and easy to use as possible. These multipurpose name labels simply peel off their backing sheet and can be applied onto the wash-care label of clothing and fabric items or directly onto all sorts of personal belongings – this means that these name labels take only a moment of your time to apply and will safely and securely label pretty much all of your children’s belongings so you don’t end up having to buy replacements time and time again.

BUT they’re also a pretty useful tool if you want to get organised yourself or if you’re trying to keep your stuff safe at work or on trips away. For example, if you work in a busy shared environment and share equipment with colleagues – or if you use equipment that is identical to that used by your colleagues – name labels are an easy way to get your tools labelled to avoid problems with items getting mixed up or misplaced (or, indeed, to avoid issues with colleagues helping themselves to anything in the communal fridge).

They’re also useful for labelling up personal belongings and any specialist equipment that you have for holidays or hobbies; you can add your name and phone number to help make sure that any items you take with you on trips or holidays is easily returned to you should anything go missing.

Name Labels For Grandparents
Stikins ® are a great helping hand if you have a relative who is moving or has moved into residential care or a nursing home. Moving into a care home can be a stressful event for both the individual being moved and for the relatives and friends around them, and the process can often be an abrupt one. Name labels can help to ease this process by removing the worry of making sure that your relative’s belongings stay safe.

For example, care homes tend to use shared laundry facilities and it can be difficult and/or time consuming for staff to ensure that items are returned to the correct owner; labelling your relative’s clothing (and other fabric items) makes it quick and simple for members of staff for sort and return these items and so prevent the unnecessary stress caused by mix ups or items going missing. They’re also useful for bringing some extra piece of mind (and security) if your relative is taking certain items with them that are of significant emotional value, such as photo albums, books, trinkets, and ornaments.

To find out more about these brilliantly useful labels, you can take a look at our Stikins ® Information Page or read independent reviews from customers who are already using these labels; alternatively you can simply place an order and find out for yourself how useful these labels can be!

Protect Your Pennies With Our Top Tips For Making Your Name Labels Go Further

Thursday, July 7th, 2016

While many parents know about the benefits of buying name labels for their children’s belongings, they may not have room in their budget to buy as many as they would like. At Label Planet, we developed our name labels with busy parents in mind and we’ve tried to make our products as simple and easy to buy as they are to use, which is why we’ve put together a few top tips to help you make your order of name labels as cost effective as possible:

Buy a larger pack size than you need
So, this one might not seem like a fair suggestion but our larger packs ARE more cost effective than our smaller packs (with a lower price per label) and you only have to use as many labels as you need now before storing the rest away for when you next need them.
We recommend that you keep your name labels in their original packaging and store them in a dry place, out of direct sunlight, at room temperature; our Stikins ® will retain their original quality for up to two years and our Trons ® for up to five years providing you store them correctly.

Make the most of our multipurpose name labels
Unlike traditional sew in or iron on name labels (and some other stick on name labels), our Stikins ® are a truly versatile stick on name label product that can be used to label pretty much EVERYTHING. Where other name label companies might ask you to buy multiple sets of name label products for use on different KINDS of belongings, if you choose Stikins ® you can buy one pack and use those labels on ALL of your children’s belongings (including shoes and bags, lunch boxes and water bottles, and personal items). The ONLY thing that they aren’t really suitable for is socks (which don’t have a wash-care label and have an unstable, stretchy surface that is extremely difficult to stick a label onto).
To get the best possible results from your Stikins ® you should make sure that you only apply them onto the wash-care label of clothing and fabric items and onto the side wall or beneath the tongue of shoes.

Purchase a pack that you can share between family members
It’s completely up to you what text you request on your labels and we are more than happy to allow customers to request text that allows them to share a pack of name labels between two or more family members. You may wish to include just a surname (or an initial and a surname if your children have names beginning with the same letter), to include two or more names on the same label (e.g. by putting “Name 1 & Name 2” or “Name 1 Or Name 2” or “Name 1/Name 2” on the top line and the surname on the bottom line), or to use text that allows you to cut your labels up to create individual labels for two children (e.g. by adding “Name 1 Surname Name 2” and cutting off one of the names or by adding the first full name on the top line and the second full name on the bottom line and cutting the labels in two).

Take up our multipack discount offer
We are currently running an offer that means if you order four or more packs, you will receive a 10% discount on your order. You don’t need to enter any codes or do anything differently – as long as you have four packs in your basket as you checkout, the 10% discount will be automatically applied – and it doesn’t matter if you order four completely different packs (for different names, different pack sizes, or even different products) or if you order four of the same. If you don’t need four packs yourself, you may want to get in touch with friends and/or family and place a joint order that will allow you to qualify for the discount together.

For more tips and advice you can visit our Parent FAQs page or take a look through our Blog posts; to go ahead and place an order simply visit either our Stikins ® product page or our Trons ® product page to get started.

FAQ – What Information Can I Put On My Name Labels?

Wednesday, July 6th, 2016

It’s entirely up to you what text you request on your labels and there are only two conditions that you have to meet:

  1. You can ONLY request standard alphanumerical characters (including a limited number of accented characters)
  2. You can ONLY request a limited number of characters to ensure that all of your text will fit onto each name label

Our system CANNOT print images or other icons (such as emojis), so you can only request letters and numbers.
We are also able to offer a limited number of accented characters as follows;
À Á Â Ä Ã Å à á â ä â å Æ æ Ç ç Ð ð À Á Â Ä Ã Å à á â ä â å Æ æ Ç ç Ð ð Ñ ñ Ô Ö Õ Ø ò ó ô ö õ ø ß Ù Ú Û Ü ù ú û ü Ý Ÿ ý ÿ

The name labels we supply are made in one of two sizes only (Stikins ® measure 30mm x 15mm and Trons ® measure 35mm x 15mm) and our system automatically selects a font size that will allow all of the characters you have entered to fit within those dimensions – which means the more text you add, the smaller your font size will be.

For example, while our system CAN process orders with 30-35 characters on a line, it will use a VERY small font to allow all of those characters to sit on a single line. We recommend trying to keep your character count to no more than 20 characters per line.

This means that, as long as you keep things short and sweet (and sensible), you can request pretty much any text you like!
Here are some suggestions of things you might want to include, based on requests made by existing Stikins ® and Trons ® customers:

  • “Family Surname” – ideal if you want to be able to share a pack of name labels between everyone in your family.
  • Nicknames – perfect if your child (or, indeed, any relative) is ONLY known by a nickname, rather than a given name.
  • Messages – some customers like to add a personal message to their name labels, such as “This Belongs To”, “Please Return To”, or “If Lost, Return To”.
  • Contact Information – if you know that you want to label items that will be taken outside the relative safety of the school environment, adding a piece of contact information is an easy way to make it easier for someone to return something that has gone astray. We recommend using a phone number, which will fit neatly and clearly onto both of our name label products – you can opt to include an email address or a partial/shortened version of your home address but these do tend to be much longer than phone numbers, which will significantly reduce the font size that is produced.
  • School Name / Year Group – a little bit of extra information that can make it much quicker and easier for your child’s school uniform or equipment to be returned to them while in the school environment.
  • Medical / Allergy Information – adding this information allows you to use your name labels as extra medical alerts to either let other people know that your child (or relative or, indeed, yourself) has a particular condition in the event of an emergency AND can be used to make sure that medical supplies or specially prepared meals are very clearly labelled to keep them safe and secure for when they are needed.

Visit our Stikins ® and Trons ® product pages to get started with an order or take a look through our Frequently Asked Questions page and our Blog for more useful tips and information about our name labels.
