Name Labels – A Perfect Fundraising Opportunity For Schools, PTAs, & Activity Groups

Thursday, April 28th, 2016

Name labels are a wonderful solution for schools and activity groups who want to put an end to their Lost Property problems by making sure everyone’s property (which is usually similar if not identical to everyone else’s property) is clearly labelled with their name. Name labels help to make sure that everyone picks up their own stuff (instead of someone else’s) and make it much easier to return items if things should happen to go missing.

With Label Planet, however, name labels also become an opportunity for schools, PTAs, nurseries, and activity groups (such as Guiding and Scouting groups or sports clubs) to raise money that they can put towards the fundraising projects of their choice.

Since 2004, we’ve been running a commission scheme that allows schools and groups to earn commission on orders of name labels placed by the parents or guardians of children who attend that school or group. We’ve set up our scheme to be as efficient as possible with minimum input required from the school or group, so once you’ve signed up you get access to year round fundraising that doesn’t take up swathes of important resources (including money and staff time).

Reasons To Join The Label Planet Commission Scheme

  • Raise money for your school or group while simultaneously encouraging parents to use name label products that can put an end to your Lost Property problem.
  • One step registration for fundraising that runs all year round.
  • No initial or ongoing costs required to participate.
  • Parents deal with us directly, so you don’t have to be involved with the delivery of orders and customer support.
  • We keep track of your commission for you and automatically send out commission cheques once a year in October.
  • We also supply you with free resources and support to help you boost the commission that you earn each year.

How The Label Planet Commission Scheme Works

  • We assign your school or group with a unique code; any name label order we receive where that number is quoted will be added to your earnings for the current commission year (which runs from 1st October to 30th September).
  • We keep track of your commission earnings throughout the year and automatically send out a cheque in October.
You can also keep an eye on how much commission you’ve earned by visiting our School Portal throughout the year.
  • We offer a BASIC RATE of 15% commission to all of our partners; this rate can be boosted to 30% commission by placing a link on your website.

Get Access To Free Resources & Support When You Join The Label Planet Commission Scheme
As the old saying goes, you get back what you put in – and we’ve found this to be very true when it comes to the time and effort that groups put in to our commission scheme.

You CAN simply register to become a member of our commission scheme and then leave it to run in the background; however, we find that the schools and groups who receive the biggest cheques each year are those who take a little bit of time to do a few small things that end up making a big difference.

These small things needn’t take up much time and won’t cost you a penny; we provide a number of resources completely free of charge to help you raise awareness of the commission scheme and so boost the number of orders that are placed with your unique code. As a starting point we recommend:

  • Putting someone in charge: just having someone who will take a little time every now and then to promote the scheme can make a big difference to the interest you get back from parents.
  • Getting organised: make a list of what you want to do to promote the scheme along with a note of when each thing needs doing and by whom.
  • Putting a link on your website: not only will this boost your commission rate to 30% but it helps parents get to the website quickly and easily, provides a reminder of the code that parents need to quote (and can even automatically enter the code so even if a parent forgets to do it their order will still count towards your commission total), and can be a brilliant opportunity to promote the fundraising projects you’re working on to boost interest and support.
We’ve put together a page that explains how to add a link to your website, which also includes a form for you to use when you’ve added a link to let us know that you want your 30%!
  • Requesting free parent leaflets: these leaflets are a perfect way to inform parents about name labels and the fundraising opportunity they provide; they include information about our products, how to order, an order form (for parents who prefer to order by post), space for your unique code, and list all of our contact details so parents can get in touch with any questions they might have. We’re happy to send out as many leaflets as you need – whether that’s a handful for a single class or group or leaflets for an entire school.

Use our online Leaflets Request form or contact our Customer Service team to request your leaflets.

  • Using our free resources to raise awareness: we’ve used our experience of running a commission scheme to create a whole range of resources to help you boost your commission totals including:
A Fundraising Guide, Information Pack, PowerPoint Presentation, Sample Text For Letters/Emails To Parents, Notice Board Poster, and a Booster Plan.

Read Our Reviews For Opinions From Parents Who’ve Already Put Them To The Test!

Tuesday, April 26th, 2016

At Label Planet, we do our very best to make sure our products are the best they can possibly be; we put them through vigorous in-house and independent testing, regularly ask for feedback from our customers, and even have members of staff using them for their own children’s clothing and belongings to keep a watchful eye on how well our name labels are working.

Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it; when you’re trying to decide whether a product is the right one for you, it’s always nice to hear from other people who have actually used that product in a real life setting – and that’s where our reviews come in.

We give all of our customers the opportunity to review our products (along with our general service and customer service) and tell us exactly what they think about them – including what they like and dislike, about how well (or not) they’ve worked for them, and even let us know all the different ways they’ve used their labels – with some coming up with suggestions that we’d never even thought of! We use the feedback and suggestions given by our customers in their reviews to update and improve our products and services wherever we can.

You can find all of our company reviews by clicking on one of the red “Reviews” buttons on the left and right of our website (for general reviews about our company and customer service) or read through the product reviews by scrolling down on our Stikins ® product page (for specific product reviews about our stick on name labels) and our Trons ® product page (for specific product reviews about our iron-on name transfers).

Got A School Trip Coming Up? Label EVERYTHING To Help Make Sure It All Comes Home!

Thursday, April 21st, 2016

While for some the last term of the school year signals the arrival of exams, for others it’s a time to look forward to educational outings and residential trips, which means that parents will be looking to make sure that their child both takes AND brings back with them a whole list of essential (and not so essential) items.

Schools trips often involve shepherding large groups of students around unfamiliar (and possibly very busy and/or cramped) places, usually at top speed – which means that there are plenty of opportunities for things to be put down and forgotten or accidentally dropped.

Name labels are a quick and easy way to help make it easier for lost items to make their way home from all kinds of outings and trips; if you know that you will be using your name labels for belongings that are going to be taken here, there, and everywhere, we recommend adding a piece of contact information so that your items can be returned if they get lost in a public place – alternatively, if you know that your child will be staying at a single venue and it is likely that Lost Property will be forwarded directly to the school, then their name is likely to be fine.

At Label Planet, we have two name label products, which can come in handy for trips in the following ways:

Trons ® name transfers: iron-on transfers that can be used to create a permanent name label on any fabric item.

Our iron-on name transfers are especially useful for residential trips where your child needs to take a variety of fabric items with them, including clothing, bedding, and towels.

Stikins ® name labels: stick on name labels that can be used to label all kinds of personal items along with fabric items.

Our stick on name labels are a quick and easy solution to getting EVERYTHING labelled because they are so versatile; the advanced adhesive and flexible material mean these labels can be applied onto clothing and fabric items (where they should be applied to the wash care label) as well as any equipment and personal items that your child needs (or wants) to take with them.

Visit our information pages to find out more about the two name label products we supply (Stikins ® Information / Trons ® Information) or visit our product pages to place an order (Buy Stikins ® / Buy Trons ®).

Stikins ® Name Labels – A Brilliant Tool To Help Guides, Brownies, Scouts, and Cubs Be Prepared For Trips & Camps

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016

Camping trips are a big part of both the Guiding and Scouting movements – and they can be a lot of fun!

Of course, these trips also involve the need to follow the traditional motto of “Be Prepared”, which usually translates to a lot of individuals being responsible for a stockpile of essential equipment that they need to keep track of throughout the entire camp – especially when their (very similar if not identical) equipment needs to be stored in shared living spaces.

Getting all that equipment labelled up is a quick and easy way to avoid mix ups when sharing close quarters and makes the process of packing up much more straight forward.

To be truly prepared for any eventuality, we recommend using our Stikins ® name labels; these versatile labels are a multipurpose name label that can be used to label pretty much anything and everything. They can be used to label clothing, shoes and bags, camping equipment, and those little extras that make camping trips all the more successful and enjoyable.

Our labels are also a pretty useful tool for groups themselves who may have their own equipment and supplies that they acquire on behalf of their members, which they can keep track of and secure by adding the group’s name and contact information to these all-important (and possibly quite expensive) items. They’re especially useful if your equipment is stored or used in spaces that are shared with other groups; for example, if your headquarters is based in a community facility or you are attending a Guiding or Scouting event with other groups (who all have their own equipment to keep track of).

Guiding and Scouting groups can also sign up to our commission scheme, which allows these groups to earn commission on orders of name labels placed on behalf of their members – this commission can be put towards all kinds of ongoing fundraising projects, whether they’re in support of a group itself, local or worldwide charities, or the local community.

Visit our website to find out more about our commission scheme, find out more about our products, or to place an order.

Schools – Have You Requested Your Leaflets For Your New Starter Packs Yet?

Thursday, April 14th, 2016

As the last term of the current school year gets underway, thoughts will be turning to the next school year and to the new faces that will be joining the school for the first time. Many schools will be putting together information or starter packs that will be handed out or sent to the new intake – often with required uniform and equipment lists.

Some schools have made name labels a “Required” part of their school uniform, as opposed to a “Recommended” one, but these starter packs are an excellent way to let parents know about the practicality of making sure that all of their child’s belongings are labelled (and a great opportunity to explain the fundraising opportunity available through our commission scheme).

We provide information leaflets to our commission partners for free – these leaflets include general information about our labels, how parents can order, and include a space to display your school’s unique code as a reminder to parents that they can raise money for the school when they order, simply by entering your code.

You can request as many leaflets as you like – whether you simply want enough to slip into your new starter packs, you want a few extras to keep in the office, or you’d like leaflets for the whole school AND the new intake to make sure that the message really gets out.

To request your free leaflets, simply fill in our online Request Leaflets form or contact our Customer Service team by phone or email to put in a request.
