Our Envelopes Are Back With A Splash (Of Purple)

Monday, March 30th, 2015

Regular name label customers may have noticed that recently our envelopes have looked somewhat plainer than usual.

We haven’t abandoned our Stikins ® pattern forever – it’s simply been on a break while we made a bit of change.

With Spring on the way, we thought a good way to celebrate would be to give our envelopes a bit of a makeover – and what better way than to add a splash of colour!

All of our name label orders (for Stikins ® name labels and/or Trons ® name transfers) will now be despatched in our brand new envelopes – featuring our Stikins ® pattern with a brand new hint of Label Planet purple.

A Helping Hand For Nursing & Residential Care Homes

Monday, March 23rd, 2015

Moving into a nursing or residential care facility is a big and often daunting change faced by increasing numbers of people. A lot of things need to happen very quickly, often while a person is unwell or in recovery. The whole experience can be stressful and traumatic for both the individual making the move and for friends and family who are helping them to do so.

With so many things to think about, not many people think about the practicalities of day to day life while in care. Facilities tend to offer services to their residents such as cleaning and laundry, while residents themselves often share communal areas. With so many people working and living in such close proximity, it is easy for mix ups to occur between clothing, bedding, and personal items.

Name labels are a helping hand for the staff and residents of nursing and residential care homes. They help staff to quickly and easily identify who owns a particular piece of clothing or bedding, and help residents avoid the distressing situation of losing their personal belongings, which often carry significant sentimental value.

Stikins ® are a very simple to use and quick solution to the problem of items going missing in care. These multipurpose labels can be applied onto the wash-care label of garments or directly onto personal items. The soft, white vinyl label won’t cause any discomfort when garments are worn and the solid black font makes it quick and easy to identify the owner of any item that may have been misplaced or mixed up with other items.

Trons ® are an iron on name transfer, which creates a completely permanent name labelling solution for any fabric item. These labels work in the same way as transfers used to apply designs to T-shirts; they fuse and bond directly with the fabric of an item to become a permanent name label on any fabric item. These can be used to label clothing, including items without wash-care labels (such as socks), and items of bedding or linen that a resident has with them.

Avoid Tantrums And Tears With A Simple Name Label

Thursday, March 19th, 2015

Name labels are a brilliant way to help avoid tears and tantrums when things go missing – at school OR at home.

At School: children have to share spaces and it’s so very easy for items to get mixed up or to go missing altogether. As parents will be well aware, some children become quite distressed when they lose something and some will become equally distressed at the thought of taking home or using something that (possibly) belongs to someone else. Attending school inevitably means owning school uniform and equipment that is identical to everyone else’s, which makes it all the more likely that items will get mixed up or go missing.

It is also quite common for children to take personal items into school – for school projects, events such as Show and Tell, or simply because they’ve got something they want to share with (or show off to) their friends and classmates. When these items go missing, there is not only the financial cost of the item to consider but also the emotional fallout of losing items of sentimental value.

At Home: if you have more than one child, then the issue of sharing space will only continue at home. While children often have their own preferences (and so own different items), it is likely that they will have some possessions that are similar, if not identical, in appearance. Using a simple name label is an easy way to bring an instant end to arguments about what belongs to whom – and has the added benefit of making it so much easier to sort the washing and to tidy away books and toys.

Name labels are often sold on the premise that they are a financial solution to the problem of having to pay to replace lost clothing and personal possessions; they’re also invaluable when it comes to putting an end to the dramas and dramatics that ensue when clothes or belongings get mixed up or go missing.

Schools & PTAs: Request Free Leaflets To Boost Your Commission

Monday, March 9th, 2015

As part of our commission scheme, we supply our partner schools and PTAs (and various groups and organisations) with leaflets that they can distribute to parents (and members).

These leaflets are completely free and you can request as many as you need; whether you just need a few to keep in the office, a set for new intake or for a small group, or one for every pupil in your school.

Each leaflet includes information about our two name label products (Stikins ® and Trons ®) and the different ways in which they can be ordered. The reverse of the leaflet can also be used as an Order Form, should individuals wish to send their order by post instead of ordering online or by phone.

For busy schools, PTAs, groups, and organisations, these leaflets make it quick and simple to promote Stikins ® and Trons ® to parents and members – with no cost to you. They’re also an easy way to remind people that buying name labels earns funds for you AND provides them with the unique code that they will need to quote when they order to register commission for you. This way, whenever they come to order, they’ll always have ALL of the information they need (including that all important code) to hand.

To request your free leaflets, simply fill in our online Request Form, send us an email (, or give us a call, to let us know how many leaflets you need and where we need to send them.

Why Should I Choose Stick On Or Iron On Name Labels?

Thursday, March 5th, 2015

If you’ve had occasion to take a look at ALL of the different name label options available to buy, you’ll be well aware that there is a mountain of choice – not only in the name labels on offer but also in the different methods of name labelling you can choose from.

Current name labelling options include:

  • Stick on labels
  • Iron on labels
  • Sew in labels
  • Clip on tag labels
  • Glue on labels
  • Stamp on labels
  • And, of course, the good old laundry pen

So why should you choose our name label products?
First of all, all name label products have their own benefits and drawbacks, so it really depends on the kind of name label you prefer. However, we would argue that our name label products (stick on Stikins ® and iron on Trons ®) provide you with two excellent options.

– FAST, EASY, & VERSATILE: simply put, stick on name labels are the quickest and simplest name label product available. You simply stick them on and you’re ready to go.

Our Stikins ® name labels are quick and easy to apply and the advanced adhesive means that they will stick onto the wash-care label of clothing (where they’ll survive the washing machine and the tumble drier) and onto a variety of personal items (including any that will be put into a microwave or dishwasher).

– COMPLETELY PERMANENT: yes, these labels take a little more time and care to apply BUT they result in a completely permanent name label on any fabric item.

Our Trons ® name transfers work in the same way as T-shirt transfers that are used to apply designs to T-shirts (where, obviously, they need to remain firmly in place for the lifetime of the garment), which involves each label fusing and bonding with the material of the item being labelled to create a permanent label on any fabric item.

Stikins ® – The Sole Solution For Shoes

Monday, March 2nd, 2015

These days, some of the most expensive items on the required list of school uniform are shoes – and usually more than one pair. While it might prove hard enough to find a pair of shoes that are relatively inexpensive, meet the guidelines/expectations of the school, and are acceptable to both the parent(s) and the child who will be wearing them, school uniform often requires purchasing a number of pairs – one for everyday wear, a pair of trainers for P.E., and possibly even the good old pair of pumps, once the staple requirement for P.E., now more likely to be reserved for specialist activities such as dance or drama.

Unfortunately, they are also one of the easiest items to lose and, infuriatingly, have the potential either to go missing entirely or to be forever separated into useless single articles of clothing. Add to this the similarities in the styles of shoes and trainers that are deemed “suitable” to be worn at school and you may also find that you end up with mismatched pairs.

This is where the simple name label comes in; applying Stikins ® name labels to your child’s (or children’s) shoes is a quick and easy way to make sure that ALL of their shoes make it home safely. Our name labels are made of a flexible white vinyl that adheres quickly and easily to the tongue or side wall of shoes; the bold black font means that the printed name stands out and it takes seconds to identify the owner of a particular shoe.

If you have particularly young children, Stikins ® can also help your child to learn to recognise their own name and to distinguish between left and right – which some find particularly tricky. For example, you could have a set of name labels printed with their name and then “Left” or “Right” and use this on items of clothing – such as shoes – where the child needs to determine which goes on the left and which goes on the right.

Please note: you should NEVER apply Stikins ® name labels underneath the heel of the foot; this will cause the print to eventually be worn away as your child walks (and runs and jumps and skips) around.
