Product Information: Place A Summer Order For Your Summer-Proof Name Labels!
Regardless of whether you’re getting organised for your summer holidays or getting ahead of the “Back To School” rush, it’s important that the name labels you buy are able to survive day in and day out – throughout the whole year.
Our name labels are made with brilliantly advanced materials that allow them to remain firmly in place for as long as possible BUT we’ve also taken steps to make sure that both our labels AND their print are summer-proof to make sure that your labels remain clear and legible all summer long.
Summer is No Match for our Name Labels
The summer brings with it a whole heap of challenges for name label products; in addition to sweaty necks, sticky ice creams and sugary drinks (and the resulting sticky fingers that follow), name labels will (hopefully) also be exposed to sun creams and lotions, which can be a problem for the print used to create these products. Many sun creams and lotions use ingredients (such as titanium dioxide) that are incredibly helpful when it comes to protecting us from the sun BUT that will react with the print used on name label and cause that print to fade or to disintegrate entirely.
Back in 2013, we sourced brand new inks for our Stikins ® name labels to ensure that the print we use would remain completely resistant to the ingredients commonly used in sun creams and lotions – allowing our products to survive all summer long. We also tested our Trons ® name transfers, when we introduced them in 2014, to ensure that they were also fully resistant to these sun creams and lotions.
We have continued to test our name labels against a variety of these sun care products to ensure that your name labels will be as summer-proof as possible, even when manufacturers make a change to the ingredients they use. Our latest tests have shown that both of our name label products remain resistant to the majority of market leading sun creams and lotions (including those designed specifically for both children and individuals with sensitive skin).
We would add that the one exception is sun creams and lotions that are alcohol based; alcohol is a solvent and, as such, will cause the print on name labels to disintegrate rapidly. While these products are more likely to be targeted at adults (rather than families or children), you might find that the sun care products you end up using this summer contain some alcohol based ingredients. If this is the case, you simply need to allow plenty of time for the alcohol in these products to evaporate away before putting on clothing or handling items that have had one of our name labels applied (this can take anything from a few seconds to a few minutes).
