Nursing and residential care homes are reliant on the use of shared rooms and facilities, which means it is all too easy for a resident’s belongings to be mixed up or accidentally left behind in a communal space. When items are lost in this way, it can cause great distress to residents (and their friends and family) and to members of staff, who will lose precious time trying to locate missing items – time that could be spent doing much more important things.
