Explore The Great Outdoors During National Parks Week

National Parks Week is an annual family festival that celebrates and promotes the UK’s National Parks. This year, National Parks Week takes place between 22nd – 29th July and features a wide range of events. Parks are holding treasure trails, seaside safaris, guided walks, fun runs, community projects, craft sessions, live music, and local food and craft markets. All of which culminates in the annual Picnic in the Park – taking place in the Broads National Park on Sunday.

Our National Parks are brilliant places for families to have fun. Whether you’re looking for a bit of adventure, a new camping spot, a scenic cycling route, energetic activities, picnic beauty spots, farmers’ markets, panoramic views, or just a brilliant place to take good old-fashioned walk – our National Parks have it all (and much more!).

There are 15 National Parks across the UK; The Broads, Dartmoor, Exmoor, the Lake District, the New Forest, Northumberland, the North York Moors, the Peak District, the South Downs, and the Yorkshire Dales in England; Cairngorms and Loch Lomond & the Trossachs in Scotland; and Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire Coast, and Snowdonia in Wales. Together the National Parks make up 9.3% of the land area in England, 19.9% in Wales, and 7.2% in Scotland. So there are plenty of places to discover and explore.

Protected status helps to preserve the landscape, local wildlife, and cultural heritage of each area. The farms, villages, and towns also have protected status and much of the land is used for agricultural purposes.

National Parks have all sorts of hidden treasures, wonderful wildlife, and amazing sites to discover. There are beaches and parks, rivers and lakes, along with spectacular hills and mountains. There are ancient forests as well as ancient man-made sites, from Roman buildings to Iron Age Forts, along with stone circles, burial mounds, medieval churches, and a whole heap of castles. There’s plenty of British wildlife too – including some of our rarest species. The Broads National Park, for example, is home to over a quarter of our rarest wildlife species. There’s also plenty of outdoor activities to try including walking, cycling, climbing, horse riding, swimming, sailing, canoeing, fishing, and even skiing. Plus, four of the eleven International Dark Sky Reserves are contained in our National Parks; perfect places for adventurers to go star-gazing.

So why not head out this weekend to discover our truly amazing National Parks.

Keep Your Stuff Safe In The Great Outdoors With Stikins ® Name Tags

Stikins ® labels are made with materials designed to withstand the forces and pressures of repeated trips through washing machines. In addition to being waterproof, they’re also extremely tough, durable, flexible, and – of course – sticky. This helps them stay put through the rough and tumble of the washing machine – and day to day life.

While you might not think about the washing machine as being a challenging environment, stick on name tags go through a lot during a simple wash-dry cycle. And if they can survive that, they can survive a trip out into the great British countryside.

Made with a unique adhesive, you can use Stikins ® name tags to label clothing, footwear, hiking gear, and those essential extras that you’ll need for any big day out. Whether you’re heading out for a long walk, hitting a cycle trail, or simply enjoying a family picnic, you can keep all of your stuff safe and secure with our stick on name tags.

Each sticky name tag simply peels off its backing sheet and sticks onto your items. When using Stikins ® labels as clothes labels to label clothing and fabric items, stick your sticky name tags onto the wash-care label. In footwear, avoid applying your stickers directly beneath the heel (the side wall or beneath the tongue are the best places).
