Blooming Great Names Freshly Picked From The Garden

In honour of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which is heading into its last couple days of glorious gardens and perfectly planted – well – plants, we’ve taken a look at the names favoured by our customers that share a distinctly botanical theme.

As you might have guessed, there are plenty of female names that have a floral feel – among our customers, the most popular are LILY, DAISY, and POPPY. An honorary mention goes to ROSE, which is the sixth favourite flower-inspired name for girls BUT is by far and away the most popular choice when it comes to picking a floral middle name (or as half of a double barrelled first name).

Other botanically inspired favourites include WILLOW, VIOLET, IVY, HEATHER, HAZEL, BLOSSOM, BLUEBELL, LAUREL, and PEONY.

For boys, the theme tends to lean more towards trees and more general nature-inspired names, such as ROWAN, ASH, HEATH, and WOODY.

While the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an excellent place to pick up all kinds of wonderful ideas for the garden, we think it’s also a pretty good place to discover a name with a touch of flower power.

Did you know: our Stikins ® name labels can be used to label all kinds of items, including personal possessions so – if you’re a bit of a gardening fan, why not use some of your name labels to get your gardening gadgets labelled up.
