In our 2026 survey of UK primary schools, the overwhelming majority of schools reported that lost property is mostly made up of clothing. Removable items are most at risk, including top layers (jumpers, sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts, and hoodies), outerwear (coats and jackets), and seasonal accessories (hats, gloves, scarves etc).
A lot of children's clothing looks very similar, while school uniform and P.E. kits are often identical. This makes it very easy for clothing to get mixed up or misplaced. Removable layers and accessories are even easier to lose especially in busy classrooms, cloakrooms, changing rooms, and playgrounds.
Clothes labels give kids and adults a simple way to instantly identify who owns what and to make sure that clothing never ends up in the lost property box. Children can easily identify their own belongings, while school staff can easily return found items to their rightful owner.
Traditionally, clothing has been labelled with sew-in name tapes or iron-on name tags. Sew-in name tapes take much longer to apply (especially if you're not confident with sewing), while iron on name tags require time, care, and concentration (not to mention a hot iron) to apply properly. Even writing a child's name into their clothing takes time and, if you don't use a permanent marker or laundry pen, will fade over time, leaving you back where you started with unlabelled clothing.
We designed Stikins® to provide busy parents with a much quicker and simpler way to label their children's clothing. You simply peel each label off the backing sheet and stick it down firmly. Stikins® take seconds to apply, which means you can label a child's entire wardrobe in minutes. No needles. No irons. No sewing. No ironing. No problem.
Our unique adhesive sticks to a whole range of materials and surfaces making it a truly multipurpose solution. While sew-in and iron-on labels can only be used on clothes and fabric items, Stikins® labels can be used to label pretty much everything and anything.
Our name labels have been independently tested using the BS EN ISO6330 wash test procedure for 60 washes at 40 degrees and thoroughly tested by thousands of households across the UK. Stikins® will survive the rough and tumble of everyday life as well as repeat trips through the washing machine and the tumble-dryer.
Each label measures 30mm by 15mm, which means they fit neatly and discretely onto the wash-care label of clothing (and inside shoes). The bright white material is easy to find when needed and the bold black font is super clear and easy to read for kids of all ages. The material is super soft and gentle against skin when labelled clothing is worn.
We recommend that Stikins® be applied onto the wash-care label and not directly onto clothing. Wash-care labels are made with a specific kind of material, while clothing can be made using thousands of different material blends. All of our tested were conducted on Stikins® applied onto wash-care labels, which means we can guarantee that Stikins® can be used as clothing labels when applied onto the wash-care label.
We cannot test all of the different materials used to make clothing, which means we cannot offer the same guarantee if you apply your labels directly onto clothing. Stikins® will work well on some materials but nwe cannot guarantee that they will do so on all materials. You can try applying your labels directly onto clothing but we only guarantee, and recommend, applying Stikins® onto the wash-care label.

How To Order Stikins® To Use As Clothes Labels
You can order Stikins® name labels online or by phone. We offer four pack sizes for you to choose from; buy 30 for £9.00; 60 for £12.00; 90 for £15.00; or 120 for £18.
Each pack comes in a plastic bag, which provides protection for your labels during storage and is also printed with our instructions for use so they're always on hand when you need them.
We print and post name labels every day, Monday to Friday (up to 3pm), so every order is despatched on the same or next working day. We use Royal Mail's first class service as standard; currently around 75% of first class post arrives next day and we advise that orders may take up to seven working days to arrive. Our super fast despatch and delivery is available all year round – even during the back to school rush.

This is my second time purchasing the labels...
This is my second time purchasing the labels and once again I wasn’t disappointed. They stay on clothes and drinks bottles for ages. The labels lasted all of last year on my son’s clothes I have had to buy more as he has started a new school. The labels are still on his drinks bottles year later. Delivery is next day as well. This makes Stikins® the perfect way to label most items of clothing and our instructions recommend that customers always apply their name labels onto the wash-care label.
For items without a wash-care label, especially stretchy socks, customers can apply Stikins® directly onto these items if they wish – but we cannot guarantee that they will remain in place as effectively as when applied onto a wash-care label.

These work great for marking my girls clothes for school. They seem to wash well with little to no fading. Like most stickers they are not great if stuck to the footbed of a shoe but if put on the side or the tongue they work brilliantly.

These are quite simply the best clothes stickers you can get. They stay on all year. But you can (with a little bit of effort) peel them off when it’s time to donate clothes.
