School Fundraising With Stikins ®: Earn Up To 30% Commission With Name Labels From Label Planet

Thursday, October 15th, 2015

Our commission scheme was set up in 2004 and is designed to be as simple, profitable, and useful as possible for schools, PTAs, nurseries, activity groups, and parents alike.

Many schools, nurseries, and activity groups struggle to cope with the problem of Lost Property and are often forced to waste their resources on collecting and attempting to return these items. Parents, too, are often annoyed and frustrated at the costs that they encounter when they are forced to replace items that are often brand new (and quite expensive).

Name labels are a simple way to help make sure that a child can keep hold of their belongings in the hustle and bustle of shared environments, such as schools and sports facilities. We supply two name label products; Stikins ® name labels (a multipurpose stick on name label that can be used on clothing and personal items) and Trons ® name transfers (an iron on transfer that can be used on fabric items), which can help prevent items from being mixed up or misplaced.

With many schools and parents now identifying name labels as an important (if not essential) bit of school kit, our commission scheme allows schools and groups to raise money each and every time a parent makes a purchase of these increasingly important items.

We allocate a unique School Code to your school, PTA, nursery, or group and every order placed where that number is quoted will count towards your commission total. We keep track of the orders placed and commission earned, with commission being paid out once a year in October.

Our commission scheme offers one step registration for year round fundraising that doesn’t require any initial or ongoing costs to participate. All you need to do is make sure that parents know about the commission scheme AND the all-important school code that will earn commission for your school or group – we take care of the rest. Parents can order anytime from our website (or contact our customer service team to order by phone) and we despatch all orders directly to customers within three working days of their order (Autumn-Spring; during the Summer months we offer same day despatch as standard).

Our basic rate of commission is 15% but we also provide the opportunity to boost this to 30%, simply by adding a link from the school/PTA or group website to our website.

Of course, as with any fundraising effort, the old adage “you get back what you put in” is a good thing to bear in mind. We know that schools, PTAs, and activity groups have limited time and resources, which is why we’ve come up with a few handy extras to help you boost your commission totals with the minimum amount of effort.

This year, we’ve put together a Fundraising Guide & Commission Booster Plan to provide a few tips and ideas for simple ways to boost the commission you earn. We also supply a number of free resources and materials to ensure that the fundraising message (and school code) makes it back to parents, including:

  • Leaflets to distribute to parents
  • Notice Board Poster
  • Example “Letters To Parents”
  • PTA PowerPoint Presentation

You can find all of these items (along with a copy of our Fundraising Guide & Commission Booster Plan) on our “Really Useful Downloads” page and you can request your free parents leaflets on our website here (alternatively, just give us a call).

For schools and groups who want to boost their commission to 30%, we’ve put together a page that explains how to go about adding a link and a Commission Claim Form, which you can use to let us know that you’ve got your link in place and you want your 30%!

To start fundraising, simply fill in our one-stop Registration Form, and we’ll get you set up in no time!

What’s New For Spring/Summer 2015

Thursday, June 18th, 2015

You might have noticed that we’ve made quite a few updates and announcements recently, so here’s a quick recap to get you all caught up – just in case you missed anything!

This product is a silver version of our existing Stikins ® name label product and uses the same vinyl and advanced adhesive to create a simple stick on name label – in a brand new shade of silver! These name labels are available in the same four pack sizes as our existing product AND cost exactly the same as the white Stikins ® – when placing your order, you simply need to select your preferred colour: White or Silver.
Our brand new guide includes; a brief overview of Label Planet and our commission scheme; the benefits of joining our commission scheme; the steps to follow to get registered and earning commission; advice on letting people know about the scheme; information about our name label products (including product information, packs and pricing information, despatch and delivery information, and ordering information); our Commission Booster Plan (to get the best from your fundraising); example letters for raising awareness amongst parents; and all of the website links and contact information you might need.
We’ve given our leaflets a bit of a redesign and brought them bang up to date. The new version is available to download from our website if you find that you need an extra copy.
We do our best to help our commission partners get as much out of our fundraising scheme as possible; one of the ways we do this is providing additional materials free of charge to help promote the fundraising scheme AND the reference number of the school. Our new materials include a Fundraising Guide (with information, advice, and tips), a Noticeboard Poster, and example Covering Letters to raise awareness of the scheme amongst parents.
Customers can now reach our website either by visiting as usual or by using our all new URL:
We’re running our free Stikins ® sample offer once again; we will print five Stikins ® for every pupil in your school to help promote our fundraising scheme amongst parents. Simply get in touch with us to request your samples. Please note that this offer is only available until the END OF JUNE.

Fundraising Materials From Label Planet

Monday, May 18th, 2015

With the launch of our brand new Fundraising Guide and our Booster Scheme, we’ve created a whole heap of materials for schools and PTAs to download from our website and use as part of their fundraising efforts.

In fact, we’ve come up with so many different bits and pieces, we thought it would be wise to set up a dedicated downloads page, so that it’s really quick and simple for schools and PTAs to download the resources they want to use.

Unfortunately, we spent all of our creative energy setting up these materials, so the best name we could come up with for the downloads page is … Really Useful Downloads (sorry).

This page contains downloads of our:

  • Fundraising Guide
Our brand new guide includes; a brief overview of Label Planet and our commission scheme; the benefits of joining our commission scheme; the steps to follow to get registered and earning commission; advice on letting people know about the scheme; information about our name label products (including product information, packs and pricing information, despatch and delivery information, and ordering information); our Commission Booster Plan (to get the best results from your fundraising efforts); example letters for raising awareness amongst parents; and all of the website links and contact information you might need.
  • Parent Leaflets
These leaflets include basic information about our name labels, commission scheme, ways to order, and an order form that can be used for postal orders.
  • Notice Board Poster
A poster to download and display on noticeboards in school to help raise awareness of the fundraising scheme.
  • Example Parent Letters
Sending a covering letter with leaflets and/or samples will help to boost the commission you earn; we’ve put together some sample letters that you can use as they are or as a starting point to create your own.

Schools & PTAs: Make the Most of Your Fundraising With Label Planet’s Commission Booster Plan!

Thursday, May 14th, 2015

For 2015, we’ve put together a brand new Booster Plan; a simple guide to a few ways to get the very best results from your fundraising efforts. This plan is based on our experience of running a commission scheme, feedback from our existing affiliates, and from the research that we’ve been doing over the past few months to find out exactly how well (or otherwise) our affiliates have been doing as members of our commission scheme.

Our Booster Plan has THREE parts: 7 Small Things That Make a Huge Difference; The Back-To-School Opportunity; and How To Avoid Catastrophic Failure.

7 Things That Make a Huge Difference
We’ve put together a list of seven small actions that schools and PTAs can take to help boost the commission they earn. You can choose how many of these actions you want to take (if any!) or you can simply use the list as a starting point for your own ideas.

  1. Nominate an individual to oversee the fundraising scheme
  2. Promote the scheme in school with a poster on the Office/PTA notice board
[You can create your own or download our poster from our website]
  1. Place a link on your website to our website
[This will also boost your commission to our 30% rate]
  1. Request and send out parent leaflets
  2. Rally support and feedback through your PTA
[We’ve provided a PowerPoint presentation for you to edit and/or use at PTA meetings]
  1. Request free printed samples for all of the pupils in your school
  2. Get organised with a To Do List!

The Back-To-School Opportunity
We’ve spent years watching the name label market and the patterns and trends of how and when people choose to order. As our existing customers will know, the name label market is a seasonal one with the peak season being the summer holidays.

This is the “Back-To-School Opportunity” of our title; most parents order during the summer in preparation for their children going back to school – which means this is the very best time to remind parents that they can help to raise funds for the school when they are purchasing name labels.

There are two ways to take advantage of this:

  • Schedule an email to send to parents in August: mention name label fundraising, along with a link to our site. If you already send out an email at this time, you could adapt your existing email to mention name label fundraising.
  • Include the information in a covering letter that you send out with parent leaflets before school breaks up for the summer or in new starter packs that are sent to the new intake of pupils.

Avoid Catastrophic Failure
During our research we identified a number of schools who get very little commission – even when they’ve sent out leaflets and requested free samples.

We’ve found that this is usually due to a lack of communication with the school and the PTA about the fundraising scheme; fundraising works best when everyone is aware of what is going on and knows how to get involved.

This is why we’ve put together a Fundraising Guide to distribute throughout the school and/or PTA so that everyone has the same information and everyone becomes a part of the fundraising effort.

Our Booster Plan is available to read on our website and has also been included in our brand new Fundraising Guide.
