Schools – Give Your Fundraising Efforts A Boost With Our Commission Booster Plan

Tomorrow is the last day of our current commission year, which means that in the next few weeks our fundraising partners will receive their commission cheques to add to their ongoing fundraising projects. If you are one of these schools or PTAs and you decide that you’d like to see if you can beat this year’s earnings next year then we highly recommend taking a look at our Commission Booster Plan.

This Booster Plan is based on feedback from our existing fundraising partners, our experience of running a commission scheme (which has been going now for over 12 years), and from our own research into how well (or not) our partners have done after joining our scheme.

We’ve aimed to create a fundraising scheme that gives schools and PTAs a really easy way to support their fundraising projects with minimal time and effort required to run the scheme; our Booster Plan provides schools with a few simple (and completely free) ways that they can quickly and easily promote awareness of the scheme and boost the amount of commission that they receive.

6 Small Things That Make A Huge Difference:

  1. Schools/PTAs with an individual who is willing to spend a little time promoting the scheme to parents often find that a little passion goes a long way and inspires a much better response from parents – and helps to keep your Fundraising Efforts that extra bit more organised!
  2. Add one of our posters to your PTA or school noticeboard as a reminder to parents; they can take a photo of the poster on their phone, which means they’ll have all the information they need to place an order (along with your fundraising number) whenever they decide they need some name labels.
  3. Put a link to our site on your school or PTA website; this makes it quick and easy for parents to reach our site (which makes it more likely that they’ll take the time to order) AND you can create a link that will automatically fill in your fundraising number on any order placed by following that link (so if parents forget to do it, their order will still count towards your commission total – you’ll also qualify for our higher rate of commission at 30%).
    You may also want to use this link to promote the benefits of ordering name labels to parents; for example, they will be raising money for the school AND buying a product that will help to prevent them (and you) from having to deal with the problem of lost property.
  4. Send parent leaflets home with a covering letter from the school or PTA – again, you can use this letter to promote ALL of the benefits of buying and using name labels, perhaps with some additional details about the projects that will be supported by the commission you earn from our fundraising scheme.
    Alternatively, you may wish to send out an email or text message to let parents know about the scheme.
  5. Rally support amongst the school and PTA; we have a PowerPoint presentation on our website that you can use to explain to interested parties how the scheme works.
  6. Organise your fundraising efforts by making a check list of what you are going to do to promote the scheme along with a note of what needs doing when and by whom.

Schools – Last Chance To Double Your Commission For 2015/16!

Friday is the 30th September and the last day in our current commission year, which means that soon we’ll be getting to work adding up all of the commission that our school & PTA fundraising partners have earned this year and preparing to send out those all-important cheques.

It also means that this is your last chance to double the commission that you earn for this commission year!

All of our fundraising partners earn a basic rate of 15% commission on any sale of name labels that we receive where their unique fundraising number has been quoted. To qualify for our higher rate of commission – at a fantastic 30% – all you need to do is add a link to your school or PTA site.

REASONS TO ADD A LINK

  1. Boost your commission rate to 30%.
    Not only will you be moved onto our higher rate of commission but we will also backdate this rate to include any commission that you have earned so far during the current commission year (1st October 2015 – 30th September 2016). Plus, as long as the link remains active, you will remain on the higher rate of commission year after year – with absolutely no need to remember to renew or reactivate your higher rate of commission.
  1. Boost the total amount of commission you earn each year.
    Adding a link is one of the easiest and most effective ways to boost the amount of commission that you receive from our fundraising scheme; the link makes it extremely easy for parents to order from us (they simply click on the link to instantly be directed to our site) AND you can create a link that will automatically add your fundraising number to any order that is placed by following the link (so even if parents forget which fundraising number to use or simply forget to add a fundraising number altogether, their order will still count towards your fundraising total).

HOW TO ADD A LINK
Full instructions can be found on our “Linking Your Site To Us” page; your have a choice of adding a simple text link or a full colour banner that will really stand out.

If you want to add a simple text link, you text should be embodied with a URL as follows:

(where the “12345” is replaced with your unique fundraising number)

To add a banner link, you can use our HTML Code Generator; simply select the size of banner you would prefer to use and our website will generate the HTML code that you need to add to your website to create the banner.

You may also want to include a few sentences along with your link to help promote the use of name labels AND boost your fundraising efforts; for example, you may want to explain how name labels can help to reduce the amount of Lost Property that parents and staff have to deal with, explain how buying name labels from us can help to raise money for the school, or perhaps even provide parents with a bit of information about the fundraising projects that will be supported by the commission earned on orders of name labels.

You can add your link to whatever part of your site you like; most of our school and PTA partners will usually add their link to the home page, uniform page, parent page, useful links page, or fundraising page (or some combination of these).

Remember, if you want to receive our 30% rate of commission you must have a WORKING link on your site AND you have to let us know about it! Once you’ve added a link, get in touch with our Customer Service Team OR fill in the Commission Claim Form at the bottom of our “Linking Your Site To Us” page – we’ll confirm that your link is up and working and then upgrade your school to our top rate of commission.

FAQ – Can I Split A Pack Between Two (Or Three Or Four Or More) Names?

The Short Answer:
No; all of the labels within a single pack must be printed with the same text.

The Long(er) Answer:
No BUT you can get a bit creative with the text that you request so that you can SHARE a pack between two (or more) people.

Here are the most popular ways that our customers create packs of name labels that can be shared:

USE YOUR FAMILY SURNAME & SHARE
If you enter just your family surname, you can use your name labels for ANY member of your family, in the knowledge that any lost items will be returned to the right family (if not with the right individual).

You can choose to enter just your surname (select “Name on one line”) or you might want to combine this with a piece of contact information such as a phone number (enter your surname on one line and your phone number on the other line) or perhaps add a friendly message (e.g. “Please Return To”, “Property Of”, or “This Belongs To/The Surname Family”).

USE YOUR FAMILY SURNAME + INITIALS & SHARE
If your children share an initial, you could add this initial to help make your labels slightly more personal than adding a surname only AND to help avoid mix ups if your child shares their surname with another child in their class.

USE YOUR FAMILY SURNAME + A BLANK SPACE & SHARE
You could also choose to enter your surname on the bottom line and enter a blank space on the top line to leave yourself room to write in the name that you need a label for. This way you can decide exactly how many labels within a pack are used for each child. Make sure you use a suitable pen (for example, a laundry pen) so that whatever you write onto your labels will stay in place even after repeat trips through the washing machine.

ENTER TWO NAMES/INITIALS & CUT
There are a few ways to create individual name labels from a single pack by cutting your labels in half or by cutting off one end. For example, you could enter one full name on the top line and one full name on the bottom line and then cut your labels in two OR you could enter “name/initial 1” followed by “surname” followed by “name/initial 2” onto one line and then cut off one of the ends to create individual name labels.

ENTER ALL OF YOUR NAMES & SHARE
If you absolutely want your children’s names to be on their labels and you don’t fancy cutting your labels apart, you can always opt for the simple option of adding all of the names onto your labels. Usually, our customers will do this by adding “Name 1 or Name 2” or “Name 1 & Name 2” to the top line and the surname to the bottom line; if you need to add multiple first names (especially if some or all of them are quite long), you may need to split the first names over the two lines rather than adding them all to the top line.

Print Examples
Most parents are used to the idea of “sew-in” labels, which feature one line of text and are cut to the size of the name or information that has been requested. Our labels, however, are one size only (Stikins ® measure 30mm wide by 15mm high / Trons ® measure 35mm wide by 15mm high) and it is the font size that decreases to allow all of the requested characters to fit onto each label.

To help you visualise the font size that will be created by different amounts of text, we have created a page of print examples with different lengths of text arranged over our 1 Line or 2 Line layouts.

Schools – Double Your Commission Rate Before Our Fundraising Year Comes To A Close!

If you are signed up to our Fundraising Scheme, now is the perfect time to make sure that you’ve qualified for our top rate of commission – before the current commission year finishes at the end of September.

All schools and PTAs who sign up with us will automatically qualify for our basic rate of commission, which is 15%; to double this to 30% all you need to do is a link to your school or PTA website to our site!

Adding a link to your school or PTA site is a really quick and easy way to let parents know about the all-important fundraising number that they need to quote when they order their name labels AND can help to boost the total commission that you earn – firstly by moving your school onto our higher rate of commission, secondly by making it really easy for parents to navigate to our site, and thirdly by automatically filling in your fundraising number when parents follow the link to place an order (which means the order will still count towards your commission total even if they completely forget to quote a fundraising number!).

If you haven’t already added a link, don’t worry, it isn’t too late to do so!

As long as you have a working link on your site by the end of September (AND you’ve let us know about it), we will upgrade your school to the higher rate of commission and backdate this rate so that it applies to any commission that you’ve already earned during the current commission year (between 1st October 2015 – 30th September 2016).

FAQ – Do I Have To Use All Of My Name Labels At Once Or Can I Store Some For Another Time?

You can use as many of your name labels as you like when they arrive and then store the rest away for future use; simply make sure that you store them somewhere safe and secure to allow them to retain their original quality so they’re ready to go when you need them again!

We recommend keeping your Stikins ® name labels and/or Trons ® name transfers in their original packaging and storing them somewhere that is dry, out of direct sunlight, and somewhere with a steady “room” temperature.

Our Stikins ® are at their best for the first two years, while our Trons ® are fine for the first five years; if you try to apply these products after this time OR don’t store them in appropriate conditions, they may not adhere or transfer properly when you come to use them, which means they may start to peel up or fall off entirely.

Many of our customers prefer to buy a larger pack (or packs) so that they can keep a few labels on hand for “emergencies” or as a steady supply that they can dip into as and when they need to – for example, to label new items of uniform (when previous items have been outgrown) or new equipment (that is required for a new topic or subject).

Buying a larger pack that you can keep somewhere safe for later on is also the most cost effective option; our larger packs have a better cost per label than the smaller packs, so buying more name labels and then using them as and when you need to will help you make your money go that extra bit further, compared to buying smaller packs every time you run out.

For many, this weekend means the final days of the summer holidays have arrived, leaving only a few hours left to get all those Back To School tasks done and dusted.

Whether you’ve completely forgotten to order name labels for your children’s belongings or you’ve already ordered but keep finding more things to label, we’ve got you covered!

Every order placed with us before 3pm (Monday to Friday) is made and despatched on the same day (with orders placed after 3pm or over the weekend being despatched on the next working day). All orders are sent out via Royal Mail’s first class service as standard – with around 93% of these items arriving on the next (working) day.

If you’re in a bit of a panic, you can also choose to give us a call and upgrade your order to a guaranteed next working day delivery service (shipping fee: £5.75).

Our Stikins ® name labels can be used to safely and securely label all kinds of school uniform and equipment (including shoes and bags, P.E. kit and equipment, water bottles and lunch boxes, stationery and books, and so on) – these multipurpose labels simply peel off their backing sheet and stick onto your children’s belongings, which means you can get dozens of items labelled in minutes!

Apply Stikins ® onto the wash-care label of clothing & fabric items or directly onto personal items; in shoes, they should be applied onto the side wall or beneath the tongue to avoid the print being worn away.

We recommend washing brand new items first (especially school uniform) and leaving your labels for 24 hours before you wash them for the first time to allow the adhesive to completely and fully set.
