The Little Extras That Make Name Labels Extra Useful

Name labels have a number of obvious benefits; they reduce the risk of items going missing and help identify exactly what belongs to whom, but here’s a few extra benefits that might come in useful.

    For younger children, having name labels in their clothes, on their shoes, and on personal items can help them recognise their own name as they learn to read.
    Labels can be printed with “Left” and “Right” (or any signifier of your choice) and applied to items with both a left and a right (for example, shoes and gloves). If your child has trouble learning the difference between their left and their right, name labels are a simple and fun way to gently remind them of the difference each time they put on (or indeed take off) these items.
    Adding a name label provides you with an opportunity to teach your child the importance of looking after their belongings. If your child knows that their belongings have been labelled, they will have to take responsibility for making sure that they always collect their own things from school – instead of simply grabbing the nearest article of clothing or bag and assuming that it is theirs.
    It’s a nightmare that parents dread; you go out somewhere and become separated from your child. It’s a difficult and frightening situation for all involved but name labels can help your child to react accordingly; adding your contact information (such as a mobile number) to their name labels means that this information is always with your child – whether they use it themselves or have it to hand when an adult asks them for it. While name labels are primarily there to help reunite clothing and items with their owners, they can also help make sure that your child (or an adult acting on their behalf) can get in touch with you should they get lost.
    You can also use name labels to list important medical or allergy information. It’s been a while since our last FAQ special so we thought it was high time we did another! And seeing as it’s the start of a brand new year and everyone (and their wallets) are recovering from the indulgence (and overindulgence) of Christmas and the New Year, we thought a good topic would be all things related to prices and payments.

We’ve tried to make things as simple and straightforward as possible, so you can order your name labels when and how you please. We provide customers with a variety of ways to order and pay for their labels, so we’ve hopefully got an option to suit everyone.

Where can I find your prices?
Our prices are listed on our website and on our Information Leaflets.
Standard packs are priced as follows:
N30 / T35: £6.00
N60 / T70: £8.50
N90 / T105: £10.50
N120 / T140: £12.50
Combination packs are priced as follows:
NT65 (N30 + T35): £8.50
NT130 (N60 + T70): £12.50
NT195 (N90 + T105): £16.00
NT260 (N120 + T140): £19.00
[While we always keep our Information Leaflets fully up to date, we are aware that some schools and customers may have old copies of leaflets with out of date prices. Please check the website for current prices as we cannot honour out of date pricing information.]

What do your prices include?
Our prices include VAT and standard UK delivery.
Standard UK delivery is via Royal Mail’s first class service.

Do I have to pay extra for anything?
Only if you wish to upgrade your shipping or have your order delivered outside of the UK.
If you order by phone, you may request a Guaranteed Next Working Day delivery option.
If you order items to be shipped outside of the UK, postage will be charged at £1.50 per item.

Are you running any discounts or offers?
Not at the moment. Any discounts or offers will be announced via our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages, or via email to existing customers.

I need sets for my X number of children. Can I have a discount?
No. Currently we do not offer any multipack discounts. For customers with multiple children, you may either purchase a pack (or packs) for each child or you may purchase a pack (or packs) to be shared between your children.
Please note that we cannot print different names within a single pack; each label within a pack is printed with the same information. However, we are more than happy for customers to include more than one name per label or to use a family name only in order to share the labels between children. 

What’s the most cost effective pack to order?
Our largest packs offer the best cost per label prices; N120, T140, or NT260.
If you keep your labels in their original packaging and store them safely in a dry place at room temperature, you can use up as many labels as you need at the current time and then save the rest for future use. When stored appropriately, our name labels retain their quality and efficiency for two (STIKINS ® name labels) or five (TRONS ® name transfers) years.

Do I have to order through the website?
No. You can also place your order over the phone or by post.

What are my payment options?
We provide a variety of payment options, depending on how you order.
ONLINE ORDERS: payment by PayPal or debit/credit card
PHONE ORDERS: payment by debit/credit card
[Please note that we do not accept American Express]
POSTAL ORDERS: payment by cheque or postal order

If you wish, you may also pay by BACS, however, you will need to contact us with the details of your order so we can issue you with a Proforma Invoice against which you can make payment. 

I work for a school/nursery/organisation. Can I get a discount?
While we don’t offer discounts to schools and other organisations, we do run a commission scheme, which allows schools, nurseries and other organisations to earn commission on sales of STIKINS ® name labels and TRONS ® name transfers where their unique code is quoted.
Any time a parent, guardian, or member affiliated with a particular school, nursery or group orders from us and quotes that organisation’s unique code, their order will generate up to 25% commission for their nominated group.

I work for a nursing/residential care facility. Can I get a discount?
Yes. We are happy to offer a 10% discount to nursing home and residential care facilities when they order directly from us. To receive your discount, simply get in touch and let us know the items you would like to order so we can process the discount for you.

We are also happy for these facilities to join our commission scheme (as mentioned above). You would be allotted a unique code to allow you to earn commission on any orders placed by residents or relatives/friends ordering on behalf of residents.

FAQ – Do I Have To Order Online?

We know that people like to order in different ways and that what’s convenient for one person isn’t necessarily convenient for another. With this in mind, we are happy to announce that we can accept orders in a number of different ways, so all you need to do is pick the one that suits you best:

Simply fill in our Order Form and post it to us along with a cheque or postal order for payment.
Order Forms are included with each order, are available to download from our website, and are also provided to schools who sign up to our commission scheme.

Call us on 01270 668076 with the details of your order and a debit/credit card for payment.

If you are requesting a bulk order on behalf of an organisation, you can place your order by email ( Get in touch with us by phone or email first to discuss your requirements and then send us the details of your order by email. FAQ – How Long Will It Take For My Order To Arrive?

All of our UK orders are despatched via Royal Mail’s first class service as standard. We find that around 93% of post sent by this service does arrive the next day, with the rest taking a day or two extra. As this is NOT a guaranteed next day service, we do offer a next day shipping option, which customers can request by phone.

We also ship to a limited number of countries outside of the UK; standard delivery is by Royal Mail’s International Standard service. They aim to deliver items sent by this service to Western Europe in 3-5 working days and to the Rest of the World in 5-7 working days.

Throughout the year we work to a set level of production, to ensure that all of our customers receive their name labels on time and don’t end up applying their labels in a rush.

Our current production level is three working days, which means that we make and despatch all orders within three working days of receiving an order, with production running on Tuesdays and Fridays.

A Helping Hand with Raising Funds for all Schools, Groups, and Organisations

Our commission scheme is designed to make it as easy as possible for schools, groups, and organisations to raise funds for whatever projects and goals they are working towards.

Signing up to earn commission with Label Planet is simple and quick to do – and once you’ve signed up, it’s entirely up to you how much time you spend promoting the commission scheme.

It’s a common question and many people feel that they don’t have the time or the money to spend on name labels. However, we’d argue (as you might expect) that there are far more benefits to using name labels than you might realise, both practical and personal in nature.

We want to make sure that all of our customers get the very best out of their name labels, which is why we send out a few extras with each order to make your labels as quick and easy to use as possible.

So what’s included in your order?

  • Letter/Receipt
    The covering letter contains the details of your order including: a Customer Reference Number (which you can quote if you need to contact us with any queries about your order or to repeat a previous order), the contents of your order (the packs you ordered and the text requested for each one), and the cost of your order (including the VAT and total amount paid).
  • A5 Information Leaflet
    Our information leaflet contains some general information about our STIKINS ® name labels and our TRONS ® name transfers. We’ve also included a list of the ways you can order STIKINS ® and TRONS ®, with the back of the leaflet providing an order form that can be used to order more name labels by post.
  • STIKINS ® Name Labels
    Each set of name labels is sent in its own transparent bag, which is printed with an easy to follow set of instructions for use. This means that if you don’t use all your STIKINS ® at once, you can store them safely in the bag until you need them (and the instructions) again.
  • TRONS ® Name Transfers
    Our TRONS ® name transfers are also sent in transparent bags; each bag contains your TRONS ® name transfers, two sheets of silicon per sheet of name transfers, and a step by step guide to applying your TRONS ®. Like the STIKINS ® packs, this means that you can safely store your TRONS ® for future use, along with those all-important instructions.

Each set of STIKINS ® and TRONS ® is sent in its own bag to ensure that there’ll be no mix ups between the sets or any confusion between your STIKINS ® and your TRONS ®.
